Traditional signature based scanning leaves
a vulnerability window open for the period between a new virus
threat emerging and a signature update becoming available.
Even with frequent updates this represents a serious risk.
Zero hour AV closes the vulnerability window.
Every message through the server is categorised in real time
against a detection centre. The detection centre analyzes
large volumes of Internet traffic in real time and new virus
outbreaks are identified by their characteristic mass distribution
patterns using patented technology. This is usually only moments
after they are introduced into the internet.
Categorization occurs without sending the
original message to the detection centre ensuring message
confidentiality and is fully automated.
